Kenya secures KSh207bn US health grant

The Kenyan government has secured a 1.6 billion US dollar grant, equivalent to about KSh207 billion, from the United States government to support the health sector under a new government-to-government financing framework. The funding is expected to strengthen healthcare programmes, support the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority and the Digital Health Agency, and boost initiatives targeting malaria, HIV and tuberculosis, as both governments seek to improve healthcare service delivery and medical equipment systems.
