Kenya’s hit squad has continued its impressive run at the African Boxing Championships, with the hosts targeting podium finishes across all weight categories at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi.
Captain Boniface Mogunde led from the front, defeating Uganda’s Matovu Ukasha in the light-middleweight division, before Edwin Okong’o secured a convincing unanimous points victory over Nigeria’s Emmanuel Chukwuka in the middleweight category.
Steve Odhiambo then completed Kenya’s clean sweep in the second session, edging Angola’s Ramiro dos Santos 3-2 in a split decision in the light-heavyweight division.
The three victories extended Kenya’s winning streak to five consecutive bouts, underlining the team’s strong start at the continental showpiece.
