Kilifi beach soccer stakeholders protest Kenya’s withdrawal from qualifiers

Beach soccer stakeholders in Kilifi have expressed disappointment after Football Kenya Federation withdrew Kenya from the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Kenya was scheduled to face Libya in the first round. The withdrawal handed Libya a bye to the second round of the qualifiers, as Kenya misses out on a chance to compete at the continental showpiece in 2026. The head of beach soccer in Kilifi, Twaheer AbdulKareem, says the FKF decision has denied the Kenyan team an opportunity to showcase its skills after months of preparation. Stakeholders are now demanding that FKF explain why the team was withdrawn from the competition.
