Kilifi County Government has launched a new chemotherapy and cancer treatment centre at Kilifi County Referral Hospital, in a major boost for cancer care services in the region. The facility is expected to ease the burden on patients who previously had to travel to Mombasa for treatment.
Speaking during the launch, Governor Gideon Mung’aro, alongside French Ambassador Arnaud Suquet and other partners, said the centre will improve access to cancer treatment and can handle up to 10 advanced cancer patients daily. He noted that partnerships with development partners have played a key role in strengthening healthcare services in the county.
