Kindiki assures Kitui of tighter security after deadly attacks

    Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured residents of Kitui County that the government has strengthened security following recent deadly attacks in the county. Prof. Kindiki said security agencies have been directed to enhance security measures to prevent a recurrence as the government works on a long-term solution to the conflict. Speaking on Wednesday after attending the 3rd Annual Regulatory Authorities and Agencies Conference at South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) in Kitui County, the Deputy President said the government has been able to significantly suppress banditry and terrorism and will do the same to crack down on those exploiting resource conflicts to perpetuate crime.
