KISII COUNTY ASSEMBLY APPROVES SH 22 BILLION BUDGET TO BOOST PUBLIC SERVICES

    The Kisii County Assembly has approved a Sh 22 billion budget for the 2026/2027 financial year aimed at strengthening essential public services across the county. The budget comprises Sh 14.03 billion for recurrent expenditure and Sh 7.97 billion for development projects, financed through equitable share, conditional grants, and own-source revenue. Key allocations include Sh 2.56 billion for Water and Sanitation Services, Sh 1.37 billion for Medical Services to upgrade Level Four hospitals such as Nyamache and Ogembo, Sh 315 million for bursaries, and Sh 150 million for the school feeding programme targeting ECDE and lower primary learners. Additionally, Sh 433 million has been set aside to complete and equip the milk factory at the Agricultural Training Centre (ATC).
