Laikipia County leaders have expressed support for planned demonstrations against the proposed establishment of an Ebola quarantine and isolation facility at the Laikipia Air Base.
Deputy Governor Reuben Kamuri criticized the government's handling of the project, saying residents have not been adequately informed about the facility and its operations. He argued that the lack of transparency has created fear among residents and investors, potentially affecting the county's economy.
Kamuri called for public participation and dialogue between the government, county leadership, and residents before any such facility becomes operational.
