At least 900 learners in Kilifi County have benefited from 8.5 million shillings in National Government Affirmative Action Fund scholarships as schools reopen. The cheques were distributed at the Karisa Maitha grounds in Kilifi town, where Women Representative Gertrude Mbeyu said 160 learners received full scholarships worth Sh4.05 million, while over 700 others from various institutions were awarded Sh4.5 million. The beneficiaries include students in secondary schools, colleges, universities and polytechnics under the ‘Mama Elimu Kwanza’ programme.
