The principal secretary in the state department of livestock development Jonathan Mueke has urged farmers across the country to embrace technology and climate smart initiatives in order to improve food security in the country.
Speaking during the just concluded south eastern Kenya ASK show held at Machakos , Mueke said that the government had introduced many initiatives, including subsidized sexed semen for dairy farmers , agricultural insurance for all farmers among other initiatives to enable farmers reap more and avoid losses during calamities …. The show saw aver 90 exhibitors take part , with top exhibitors including the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation, KEBS and Karlo scooping top awards.
REREC was particularly recognized for its efforts in encouraging farmers to use renewable energy in order to maximize on profits.
