Maafisa WATANO wa kitengo maalum cha Usalama -SOG - wameuwawa kwa kupigwa risasi na magaidi wa Alshabab huku WANANE wakijeruhiwa vibaya katika shambulizi la kigaidi lililotokea Rakei eneo lililoko ndani ya msitu wa Boni -Bodhei kaunti ya Lamu. Kamishna wa Lamu Wesley Koech amesema kuwa magaidi zaidi ya 70 walikuwa wakijaribu kuingia Bodhei kupitia Garisaa kabla ya kikosi cha SOG kutumwa ili kuwakabili. Maafisa hao WANANE waliojeruhiwa wamesafirishwa kwa ndege hadi Nairobi kwa matibbau huku vitengo mbalimbali vya maafisa wa usalama vikiendeleza oparesheni dhidi ya magaidi hao wanaoaminika pia kujeruhiwa kwenye makabiliano. Tukio hilo limetokea kilomita tatu kwenye eneo la Mpaka wa Lamu na Garissa.
