Doctors at Machakos Level 5 Hospital have made history after performing the first-ever laser ablation for varicose veins on a patient in Kenya. The patient who has been suffering from chronic venous insufficiency was treated using the advanced laser ablation technique, a procedure that uses a laser fibre to heat and seal the damaged vein, causing it to collapse and be reabsorbed by the body.
