Manda Island finally sees light courtesy of a well wisher

Manda island residents in Lamu County are all smiles after seeing the light. Despite the island hosting 3 schools it has never been connected to the grid since independence and now a donor has given them a backup plan. Allen Yan the country manager at Bluetti Kenya says their plan is to give back up power plans to communities in Africa in a bid to uplift their livelihoods. The residents now say this will boost the academics level for their children can study late into the night.
