The Sugar Millers scored twice in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
Mombasa United pulled one back late in the match through Laban Otieno, who scored the coastal side’s first-ever goal in the top flight.
The victory marks Mara Sugar’s first win of the season after opening their campaign with a draw, while Mombasa United suffered their second consecutive defeat since earning promotion.
