Former Chief Justice David Maraga has warned that Kenya risks descending into lawlessness if the country fails to confront the growing wave of political violence ahead of the 2027 General Election. Speaking outside Muthangari Police Station after filing a complaint, Maraga, alongside civil society groups, condemned the alleged raid on TISA offices and the surveillance of its Executive Director, Diana Gichengo. The groups said TISA, a leading critic of government spending and budgeting, is being targeted for its advocacy. They demanded that Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja identify those behind the alleged attacks, saying TISA staff are living in fear.
