A long-standing border dispute between Wajir and Marsabit counties over ownership of the Titu area has sparked fresh tensions following the launch of development projects in the contested zone by the Eldas Constituency Development Fund.
Leaders from Marsabit County are now calling on the Ministries of Interior and Lands to intervene and resolve the standoff, warning that the dispute is fueling hostility along the border. Speaking during a fundraiser at Sessi Mixed Secondary School in Moyale, Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali accused Eldas MP Adan Keynan of disregarding an earlier directive that suspended development activities in the disputed area. He warned that the ongoing projects could heighten tensions among residents.
