Mastercard and Moovn Technologies have signed a five-year partnership to expand digital payment services across East Africa.
The deal will enable MoovnPay users to access virtual and physical prepaid cards, make online payments, transfer money and send eligible cross-border remittances.
The partnership aims to support Kenya’s growing small business sector. Mastercard says 95 per cent of Kenyan small and medium-sized enterprises accept mobile payments, while 80 per cent want simpler and more user-friendly payment options to support business growth.
The new services will also be integrated into Moovn’s transport, logistics, e-commerce and merchant platforms, giving users more options to make payments and receive money.
