Doctors are calling on the East African Governments to halt and reverse privatization in the health sector. Under the hospices of the East African Sector Health Union's Network, the doctors argue that the expansion of for-profit interests in the delivery of healthcare furthers the commodification of health which should be a fundamental right. The doctors also want the East African Community member states to set aside at least 15% of government general expenditure on health.
