The government, through the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry is carrying out a pilot programme on ‘Model Villages’ to fast-track the achievement of the 15 billion trees target by the year 2032. By putting communities at the centre of sustainable tree planting efforts, the government says model villages are the way forward as they offer a practical solution to secure our environmental future.
