Residents from across Mombasa County have launched the Jamvi la Ardhi, Makao na Mazingira Movement, a grassroots platform aimed at addressing persistent land, housing, and environmental challenges affecting local communities.
The movement was unveiled at Tononoka Methodist Wesley Church Hall in Mvita Sub-County and brings together representatives from 26 communities facing issues such as land ownership disputes, forced evictions, housing insecurity, and environmental concerns.
Leaders say the platform will provide a united voice for affected residents while pushing for transparent and inclusive solutions through engagement with the County Government of Mombasa, Parliament, and constitutional commissions.
