Tourism stakeholders in Kenya are urging the government to fast-track the operationalisation of the Kenya National Convention Bureau and expand direct international flights to Mombasa through Moi International Airport. This follows the successful hosting of the first-ever Our Ocean Conference in Africa at the Tembo International Convention Centre in Mombasa, which attracted over 6,000 delegates.
The conference, held at PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort and Spa, highlights Kenya’s growing potential in the global Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) market. Industry leaders say the Kenyan coast offers a unique blend of beach tourism, wildlife safaris, and cultural experiences, positioning it as a strong competitor in global conference tourism.
