Activists and grieving families in Mombasa have raised alarm over a surge in femicide cases in the county and across Kenya, following the brutal killings of two females—a pregnant woman and an 11-year-old girl.
The concerns were voiced on Monday outside the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital (CGTRH) morgue, shortly after a post-mortem examination was conducted on the body of 36-year-old Elizabeth Nina. Her body had been discovered dumped in an unfinished building in the Senti Kumi area of Shelly Beach, Likoni Sub-County.
