The County Government of Busia has rolled out a free maize seed distribution programme targeting vulnerable farmers in a bid to enhance food security and fight hunger. The maize seeds will be distributed to farmers at the sub-location level as the county government intensifies efforts to promote climate-smart agriculture and boost food production. Speaking on Thursday during the distribution of maize seeds to farmers in Katakwa, Teso North Sub-county, Governor Paul Otuoma urged farmers to register with the Kenya Integrated Agricultural Management Information System (KIAMIS) to ease identification and access to government support.
