A section of members of the National Assembly has confessed that they indulge in bhang, an indication of how drug abuse has permeated the Kenyan society. In a debate Wednesday afternoon a group of legislators confessed to smoking bhang strictly for medicinal purposes, saying it was time the nation legalized the narcotic. The MPs were reacting to a statement sought by West Mugirango member of the National Assembly Stephen Mogaka on how narcotics are being transported from neighbouring countries into the country and sometimes not nabbed by security agents. A section of MPs warned that legalising the substance would invite chaos, pointing out that it is currently being used in the full glare of the public.
