Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has urged the church to leverage its moral authority to foster dialogue among political rivals ahead of the 2027 General Election, saying such engagement is critical to preventing a repeat of the 2007/08 post-election violence.
Mudavadi said dialogue remains the surest path to ending political tensions, curbing violence and safeguarding national peace. Speaking on Monday during the opening of the 21st AMECEA Plenary Assembly at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, he also challenged young people to resist political manipulation, warning them against being drawn into violence, chaos and goonism for the benefit of self-seeking politicians.
