Efforts to improve maternal and child health in Baringo have received a boost after Lwala Community Alliance donated essential midwifery equipment to the county. The equipment, handed over to the Baringo County Department of Health in Kabarnet town, will support maternal and child health services in more than 100 health facilities. Lwala CEO Julius Mbeya said the partnership with the county government aims to improve care during pregnancy and childbirth and reduce maternal deaths in the region. Mbeya added that the organization has also deployed 200 pneumatic anti-shock garments to 104 health facilities to help manage delivery emergencies. Governor Benjamin Cheboi welcomed the support, saying it complements the county’s efforts to achieve zero maternal deaths, while the administration continues to address staff shortages and expand healthcare services across the county.
