NSE firms to disclose climate and governance risks from 2027

Listed companies in the country are facing a new reporting requirement that could change how investors assess business performance. From January 2027, firms on the Nairobi Securities Exchange will be required to disclose sustainability-related risks, including climate exposure, emissions, and governance structures, under new global accounting standards. Regulators are now urging companies to accelerate preparations ahead of the deadline.
