Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga regrets his remarks on Raila’s death

Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga has apologized over remarks he made about the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and announced his resignation as Vice Chair of the Council of Governors. Addressing the media, Kahiga denied claims that he made the remarks in celebration of Raila’s passing. He however said he was taking responsibility for the public outrage caused by the remarks he made in Kikuyu vernacular during a burial in his home village.
