Opposition claims plot to rig Ol Kalou by-election

Opposition leaders have accused the government of plotting to manipulate Thursday's Ol Kalou by-election following the deployment of more than 1,000 police officers to the constituency by Inspector General Douglas Kanja. The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) has written formally to the IEBC alleging a plot to rig Thursday's by-election. The coalition blames the IEBC for failing to act on alleged voter bribery and political violence, warning that public confidence in the commission ahead of the 2027 General Election is at stake.
