Over 7,000 youth across the country have benefited from the Google-backed Ganjisha programme, which aims to train and equip young people with skills to earn a living through digital content creation. The inaugural programme, which ran for 18 months, attracted an investment of 900,000 US dollars, equivalent to KSh 116.4 million. The programme, run by the Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI) and Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT), equips young people with skills in photography, videography, graphic design, social media management, digital marketing and financial literacy, giving them entrepreneurship skills to generate income from the growing creator economy.
