The Judiciary in Kisumu has offered inmates at Kodiaga Maximum Prison an early Christmas after it released 86 prisoners in a move to decongest the correctional facility. The exercise saw Kisumu High Court Judges led by Presiding Judge Alfred Mabeya and Joe Omido, as well as magistrates, review more than 350 case files. The exercise was part of the annual prison decongestion programme aimed at easing congestion in correctional facilities and promoting access to justice.
