Parents raising children living with autism have been urged to give them hope by seeking therapy and specialised care. Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri, Anthony Muheria says children living with autism have talents like any other and can thrive through love, care, and support. Speaking at the St Tharak Tumaini Home in Nanyuki, while receiving a vehicle donated by the National Commercial Bank of Africa (NCBA) to help transport the children for therapy, Archbishop Muheria decried cases where parents still keep such children at home in denial, despite available services. NCBA Group Managing Director and CEO John Gicharu noted that East Africa has few autism care centres, saying the donation aims to improve access, mobility, and hope for affected children and their families.
