PARLIAMENT REVIEWING CORPORAL PUNISHMENT REINTRODUCTION AS GEM MP LINKS SCHOOL ARSON TO INDISCIPLINE

Parliament is reflecting on the possibility of reintroducing corporal punishment in schools following a rise in arson incidents that have led to the loss of lives, Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo has revealed. Speaking during the disbursement of education bursaries at Wagai Primary School in Gem Constituency, Siaya County, Odhiambo said discipline must remain a priority in society and called for a national conversation on the growing cases of students burning schools.
