Police in Kwale town are probing an incident in which unknown individuals demolished houses belonging to a businessman in the county. According to the businessman Salman Jobez, unknown persons invaded the land he had leased from the postal corporation of Kenya and demolished the structures estimated at a cost of 1.7 million shillings. Kwale County Police Commander, Stephen Ng'etich, commenting on the matter said they had taken witness statements as investigations began into the motive behind the act. Jobez is now demanding compensation for the losses incurred saying he was not served with any notice to vacate the land.
