Activists opposed to the proposed financed bill 2023 have this morning taken to the streets in Nairobi CBD to express their dissatisfaction over what they have termed as forced taxes if the members of parliament pass the bill into law. Police threw teargas and even arrested some to quell the demos. The bill that is expected to be tabled in the national assembly Thursday week has attracted controversy over among others levies, the 3% housing fund from salaried kenyans, and 16% VAT On fuel.
