Gelda Waterboer, a teacher from Namibia, went viral on social media with a powerful and energetic rendition of a song which teaches children how to respond to inappropriate touching. In the song, she encourages them to speak up and assert their boundaries. Speaking to the BBC’s Focus on Africa podcast, Waterboer explained that her core message to the children is that “their voice is important and their ‘no’ is important.”
