The government has blacklisted three brands of fertilizer distributed under the subsidy program for being sub-standard. Agriculture Principal Secretary Kiprono Rono says Kelphos Gold, Kelphos plus and NPK 10.26.10 all manufactured by MS Kel Chemicals do not meet quality requirements and hence have been recalled. This as Josiah Kariuki the Chief Executive Officer of Silica Booster Limited also known as SBL Innovate Manufacturers Limited presented himself to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Nairobi Area, over the fake fertilizer scandal.
