The National Chairperson of the Federation of Public Benefits Organisations (PBOs) in Kenya has called on the government to formally recognise and support the work of PBOs across the country. Speaking during the federation’s second quarterly meeting of the year, the chairperson emphasized the critical role that PBOs play in national development, particularly in supporting vulnerable communities and driving grassroots growth. The meeting was also convened to sensitize members and stakeholders on new regulations that have recently been introduced to govern the operations of PBOs in Kenya. These regulations are aimed at streamlining the sector, enhancing accountability, and strengthening collaboration between PBOs and government agencies.
