Qur’an recitation is increasingly being used by Muslim communities as a tool to instill strong moral values in children from a tender age, helping guide them towards responsible citizenship while protecting them from social vices such as drugs, crime and other negative influences.
The two-day even theld at Sheikh Zayed Hall in Nyali Sub county of Mombasa county during the holy month of Ramadhan, has brought together brought children from 30 Madrasa aged between 5 and 18 years, who competed in different categories by reciting portions of the Holy Qur’an ranging from 2 to 15 Juz (parts), out of the 30 Juz that make up the entire scripture.
