The Association of Real Estate Stakeholders-RESA has urged the government to initiate a multi stakeholder dialogue to review the proposals in the 2025 Finance Bill and the recently enacted National Rating Act. The stakeholders are warning that the proposed tax and rating measures could have devastating consequences especially for affordable housing. Association of Real Estate Stakeholders Vice Chairperson Dominic Thuku said the new tax laws threaten to derail housing development and investor confidence in the country.
