Nearly 6,000 pensioners are inching closer to a much-anticipated rise in their monthly payouts as the TelPosta Pension Scheme finalizes planning.
The Pension's trustee, Ignatius Wamalwa, says plans are underway to increase monthly earnings from the current 3 per cent, in a move aimed at cushioning pensioners from economic shocks and affording them dignity in their sunset years.
Speaking during a member education exercise in Nakuru, Wamalwa said lower-tier contributors earning less than Ksh 20,000 a month are the key beneficiaries of the initiative.
Wamalwa said the Scheme is finalizing the liquidation of strategic assets to raise funds to support the payment of annual bonuses and increments for members.
