The national Under-17 women’s team, the Rising Starlets, have landed in Kampala, Uganda, for the second round of the Under-17 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Uganda will host the first leg on Friday at the FUFA Grounds, with Kenya hosting the return leg a week later at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.
Kenya progressed to the second round after eliminating Namibia 7–1 on aggregate, while Uganda overpowered Zimbabwe 6–1 on aggregate to book their place. Africa has been allocated four slots at the World Cup to be hosted by Morocco.
The winner between Kenya and Uganda will advance to the third and final round, where they will face Cameroon. Cameroon, alongside Zambia, Nigeria, and Guinea, has already qualified for the third round. Winners in this final qualification phase will secure a place at the World Cup finals in Morocco.
