President William Ruto says Africa will continue investing in primary sectors such as manufacturing and agriculture to create jobs and guarantee food security. While acknowledging that the future of global economic competitiveness lies in investing in services, technology and human capacity to innovate, developing nations cannot fully adopt that, as the primary sectors are still the main drivers of economies contributing 40 per cent of the gross domestic product in Sub Saharan Africa. The president made the remarks during a forum dubbed the Africa debate 2025, in London.
