Ruto defends fuel price hike, cites regional parity and road levies

President William Ruto says the high cost of fuel in Kenya compared to seven other regional countries is justified. In what appears to be a response to the push for a reduction of taxes imposed on fuel, President Ruto defended the 25 shillings road maintenance levy on each litre of fuel, saying it is a necessary evil if the country is to construct and maintain its infrastructure.
