President William Ruto has asked the striking doctors to accept an offer by the government of a monthly stipend of 70,000 shillings per intern doctor saying the 200,000 they are demanding is not affordable. The president, who spoke after a church service at AIC Fellowship in Eldoret Uasin Gishu County, further announced a reduction of next year's national budget from 4.2 trillion shillings to 3.7 trillion shillings saying the country must live within its means and cannot spend what it does not have.
