Safina party leader Wanjigi declares 2027 presidential bid

Safina Party leader Jimi Wanjigi has joined a list of individuals who have declared interest for a Presidential seat in 2027. Speaking in Siaya County, Wanjigi launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto over what he described as failed leadership and broken promises. He cited challenges in the health sector, following the introduction of Social Health coverage under SHA, and rising youth unemployment as evidence of poor economic planning. He argued that recent reforms have not improved services for ordinary citizens and blamed the administration for failing to deliver meaningful change.
