Senate Mashinani I Busia residents reject proposal to amend Constitution through parliamentary drive

Residents of Busia County have rejected the proposal to amend the constitution through a Parliamentary initiative. Speaking at a public hearing in Busia town, the residents said any proposed amendment to the constitution must be subjected to a referendum. The residents told Senators on Monday that some of the proposals contained in the Constitution of Kenya Amendment Bill 2025 are ill-advised and do not seek to serve the interests of Kenyans.
