The Senate Energy Committee now says it will question Trade Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui and the Directors of One Petroleum Limited, over the irregular importation of substandard 60,000 metric tonnes of fuel into the country outside the Government-to-Government arrangement. The Parliamentary energy watchdog, which conducted an inspection of the country’s petroleum stocks at the Kipevu Oil Storage Facility in Mombasa, revealed that the condemned consignment is still locked up in the country under tight security, awaiting shipment.
