Senate majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot has tonight sparked a fresh row over what seems to be a calculated move to curtail media freedom in the country. Cheruiyot in a statement posted on his twitter page says that President William Ruto will succeed in crushing every cartel in the country save for banks and media which he terms as extremely powerful and synergise so well to protect each other's interest. The senate majority leader suggests that for public good a way must be found to crush the two sectors. The Kenya Editors Guild has since condemned the post which it says is an open threat to the media and a direct affront to media freedom.
