Siaya County has marked a major milestone in maternal healthcare following the successful management of a rare ectopic pregnancy at Bondo Sub County Hospital, highlighting improvements in specialized reproductive health services across the county.
Governor James Orengo says enhanced healthcare investments have reduced maternal mortality rates in Siaya to 59 per 100,000 live births, significantly below the national average of 355 per 100,000. He noted that the county continues to expand access to quality maternal and newborn health services, including deployment of more medical staff and improved infrastructure.
