SIAYA COUNTY REPORTS DROP IN SICKLE CELL DEATHS AND HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS

Siaya County has announced a notable decline in sickle cell disease-related deaths and hospital admissions over the past five years, according to County Executive Committee Member for Health, Jackline Oduol. Speaking during World Sickle Cell Day commemorations at Siaya County Referral Hospital, Prof. Oduol revealed that 656 patients were admitted between 2021 and 2026 due to sickle cell complications, with 28 deaths recorded during the same period.
